Job Title: Senior Chief Surveyor, Project Manager

Department: Survey
Reports To: VP of Surveying and Mapping, AVP Branch Office, CEO
Salary: $87,000 - $97,000 per year, based on experience

Job Summary:
The Senior Chief Surveyor, Project Manager oversees all survey operations, manages project planning and execution, and maintains client relationships. This role requires extensive knowledge of surveying techniques, strong leadership skills, and the ability to ensure project quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Survey Operations:

    • Conduct and supervise fieldwork, including traversing, topographic surveys, and GPS location.
    • Perform boundary determinations and survey calculations; draft final plans using CAD.
    • Train and oversee survey crew activities, ensuring quality control.
  • Project Management:

    • Develop project plans and manage schedules, budgets, and resources.
    • Maintain comprehensive documentation and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Client Relationship Management:

    • Act as the primary contact for clients, ensuring satisfaction and addressing inquiries.
    • Provide regular updates and manage client expectations.
  • Team Coordination and Leadership:

    • Lead multidisciplinary teams and foster a collaborative work environment.
    • Prepare work schedules and mentor junior staff.
  • Financial Oversight:

    • Develop budgets, monitor expenses, and communicate any financial concerns.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Graduate; Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Licensure: Professional Land Surveyor licensed in Maine.
  • Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and surveying software; strong mathematical and reasoning abilities.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to navigate various terrains, lift up to 50 pounds, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
