Pay: $70,000 - $100,000 per year

Position Overview: We are seeking a talented Civil Engineer with 3 to 8 years of civil engineering experience to join our dynamic Engineering team in Portland. In this role, you will manage engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring they meet client expectations, regulatory standards, and quality benchmarks. Key Responsibilities:

Senior Project Engineer Duties:

  • Collaborate with clients and management to understand project requirements.
  • Conduct engineering calculations, designs, and drafting tasks, including:
  • Road geometry, site layout, grading, utilities, and stormwater management.
  • Manage regulatory permit applications and negotiate with local, state, and federal agencies.
  • Determine project specifications by reviewing plans and customer requirements.
  • Oversee the project lifecycle from site assessments to final approvals.
  • Prepare cost estimates, schedules, and conduct site inspections.

Project Manager Duties:

  • Develop and execute project plans, monitoring activities and resources to ensure successful completion.
  • Maintain strong client relationships, providing regular updates and addressing concerns promptly.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate project workflows effectively.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Manage project budgets and proactively address financial concerns.
  • Implement quality control processes to uphold project standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Maine preferred.
  • 3 to 8 years of relevant civil engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, HydroCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Salary / Remuneration:
  • Wages paid weekly.
  • Profit sharing awarded quarterly after the probationary period (120 days).
  • Vacation, Holidays, Earned Paid Time Off:
  • Vacation time: Starts at 0 days for six months, 5 days for the second six months, and 10 days after one year (limited carryover).
  • 9 paid holidays, including all major holidays.
  • 5 paid time off days per annum, accruing unused days up to 15 days.
  • Paid leave for jury duty, bereavement, and voting.
  • Insurances:
  • Single health insurance: Company pays 80% of the premium; employee pays $23.51 weekly.
  • Family health insurance: Company pays 60% of the premium; remainder includes employee contribution.
  • Vision and dental insurance: Company pays 86% of the monthly premium; employee pays $6.46 monthly.
  • Life insurance and disability insurance: Company pays 60%; employee pays 40%.
  • Retirement:
  • 401K Retirement Plan with contributions up to $23,000; details available from the Director of Administration.
  • Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) in development.
