Job Title: Training Program Development Manager

Job Summary:

We are looking for a strategic and dynamic Training Program Development Manager to spearhead our technical training efforts. This crucial role will focus on building training capabilities, creating content, and refining processes, while ensuring the timely delivery of new and updated training classes and materials that align with our technical objectives and organizational mission. The ideal candidate will have a solid grasp of instructional design principles, adult learning theory, and effective training methodologies.

Salary Range: $110,000 - $130,000 per year, based on skills, experience, and location.

Incentives: Eligible for a Short Term Incentive (STI) Bonus plan of 15% of base salary.

Travel Expectations: Up to 50%, primarily to Ridgefield, WA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive strategy for technical training within the service organization.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to ensure training programs support key business goals.
  • Create engaging training materials, including presentations, manuals, and multimedia resources.
  • Foster measurable improvements in technical skills through training, mentorship, and apprenticeship programs.
  • Deliver training through various formats, including in-person classes, webinars, and e-learning modules.
  • Identify community partners to build a strong talent pipeline.
  • Establish standards for internships, scholarships, and company-sponsored programs.
  • Assess training effectiveness using participant feedback and performance metrics.
  • Maintain comprehensive training records to track employee progress and compliance.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in training and development.
  • Manage relationships with external training vendors and consultants as necessary.
  • Provide coaching and support to trainers and subject matter experts involved in training delivery.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Deep understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methods.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex information.
  • Strong project management abilities, with experience juggling multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate across teams.

Experience/Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or at least 10 years of relevant experience in instructional design and training delivery in lieu of a degree. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a training or learning and development role, with at least 2 years in a leadership position.
  • Proven experience in instructional design and curriculum development.
  • Familiarity with project management and budgeting for training initiatives is a plus.
  • Certification in training and development (e.g., CPLP, CPTM) preferred but not required.
